I think I would be the same that I currently am. An elementary teacher, but to little witches with little star training wands.
Joe and Sue. A character study for an upcoming illustration I plan on doing. These two were named and modeled after my parents.
Back in August 2013 I started a daily doodle journal. At the time I had just started my graduate studies, which was quite intensive. I decided to do a daily doodle about my day each day to give myself a short break to draw.
I did this piece for my dad. He at the time had gotten a new office with lots of wall space and wanted some of my art to fill it. I asked what he wanted, and he said “something local.” So I drew this scene of the Biloxi Back Bay. I got the piece framed and gifted it to him. However it never saw a wall. It ended up tucked behind a file cabinet for years.
Not as bad as a watercolor landscape I did for my mom. She bugged me for months for the painting. I gave it to her as Christmas present. She ignored it for six months when my brother stole it. He now has it in the honored the spot above his toilet.
I’ve been following Illustration Friday for years now. It’s a site that provides weekly drawing prompts. This is the only time I’ve done it. This was for the theme of “ocean.”
For the longest time I misheard the lyrics to Imagine Dragons’ song “Demons” as:
No matter what we breathe,
We are all made of green
It’s really “No matter what we breed, we still are made of greed.” But I still rather like the misheard version.
This is a bit of an odd concept, but it was more of an experiment in using mix media.
Trying my hand at letter art. Truthfully I do not like my own handwriting, and have always found doing lettering annoying. Lately I’ve been trying to get past that.
Done for the Misha’s Book project. The project was created by a new mother whose husband was tragically killed when their daughter was only a year old. As such the mother created an art project and asked artists to submit bears to be created into a book to share with her daughter when she’s older.
Somewhere in the darkest night, peace will come as the spirit flies
As you weave a spell by another me, snow falls with the summer rain
~ Nimue’s Lament by Alkæmy
An old picture done for an online group that offered monthly drawing challenges. The challenge was to illustrate to song lyrics.
I recently changed to a new website server, which caused me to have to redo my webpage. Thus I lost all of my old posts.
